OUR STORY
Yachting International Radio was launched on February 14, 2019, with the aim of creating a more open, informed, and accessible conversation around the global yachting and maritime industries. From the outset, the platform focused on long-form interviews and discussions that explored not only the luxury side of yachting, but also the operational, social, and environmental realities shaping the industry.
Founded by Rhea Rouw, a broadcast professional with more than 28 years of experience in radio and media, YIR began as an audio-first platform. Shortly after launch, it became clear that traditional radio alone could not fully reflect how modern audiences consume information. In response, the platform evolved to embrace podcasts, video interviews, and digital editorial content, allowing for deeper engagement and broader reach.
Today, Yachting International Radio operates as a multimedia editorial platform combining podcasts, video, and written coverage across a wide range of industry topics. With a global audience and contributors from across the maritime sector, YIR continues to provide timely insight, informed discussion, and independent perspectives on the issues shaping yachting today.
